Game Rules

Net Five² may look simple at first glance, but there is more strategy hiding beneath the surface than you might expect. Build lines, create shapes, manage your resources and try to squeeze every possible point out of the board before time runs out.

What Does Net Five² Mean?

The name already explains the core idea of the game.

The word Net refers to the grid where every move takes place. The number Five stands for one of the main objectives: creating a line of five connected elements. Lines can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.

And no, the little square symbol is not there because this is version two. The square represents another important scoring mechanic: creating closed shapes. Both lines and enclosed areas reward points and often determine who ends up on top.

The Goal

Your objective is simple.

Score as many points as possible before the match ends by creating lines, forming closed areas and making smart use of the board.

The more colors that are currently active on the field, the more valuable your scoring opportunities become.

Taking Your Turn

Every turn gives you 15 seconds to act.

During that time you must either place your current piece on the board or adjust it before placing it.

If there is no piece of the same color on the board yet, you may place it on any free field. The dark anchor point shown in the preview determines where the piece connects to the grid.

The Anchor Point

Once a piece of the same color already exists on the board, things become more interesting.

The anchor point of your new piece must connect directly to your existing structure. You cannot simply place it wherever you like.

This rule forces players to think ahead and carefully expand their networks across the playing field.

Changing Pieces

Sometimes the current piece is exactly what you need. Most of the time it is not.

You may rotate the piece, move its anchor point or skip it entirely.

However, these actions are not free. Without Jetons, every modification costs 5% of your current score.

What Are Jetons?

Jetons are a special in-game currency used for modifying pieces without losing points.

They can be earned by watching advertisements or exchanged for points during a match.

Future versions of the game may introduce additional ways of obtaining them.

Multiplayer Rules

Multiplayer follows the same core mechanics with a few important differences.

The player who creates a match always plays as red. The joining player always plays as green.

Players take turns automatically. A turn ends either after placing a piece or when the 15 second timer expires.

Multiplayer matches currently last five minutes.

Multiplayer Limitations

Unlike Single Player, modifications are limited.

During a multiplayer turn you may only change the current piece four times. Once the limit is reached, you must decide whether to place the piece or let the timer run out.

Quick thinking and good planning often make the difference between victory and defeat.

Multiplayer Services & Authentication

Unity Anonymous Authentication

Net Five² uses Unity Anonymous Authentication. This service creates and manages anonymous player identities without requiring account registration.

Anonymous Authentication enables multiplayer functionality, rankings and progression systems while avoiding the collection of unnecessary personal information.

Unity Gaming Services

Net Five² uses Unity Gaming Services and related multiplayer technologies to provide online gameplay. These services process technical information required for matchmaking, player connectivity, session management, multiplayer synchronization, leaderboards, and network communication.

Legal Basis: The processing of this technical information and the anonymous identifier is necessary for the performance of the contract (the gameplay service) under Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR or is based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Net Five² currently does not provide player chat, voice communication, direct messaging, or friend requests.

Leaderboards

Anonymous player names, scores and ranking information may be displayed publicly through in-game leaderboard systems. Players should avoid using personal information as part of their chosen player name.

Advertising & Virtual Currency

Google AdMob

Net Five² may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect information such as advertising identifiers, device information, IP addresses, diagnostics and advertising-related data in accordance with Google's own policies.

The developer does not control how Google processes information collected through its independent advertising services.

Consent Management

Where required by law, Net Five² uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage user consent regarding personalized advertising and data processing.

Legal Basis: Any data processing for personalized advertising and tracking by our partners is strictly based on your explicit consent (such as Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can grant or withdraw at any time via the integrated privacy settings.

Rewarded Advertisements

Players may choose to watch rewarded advertisements in exchange for virtual currency or other gameplay-related rewards. The number of rewarded advertisements viewed may be recorded for gameplay balancing, progression and reward distribution purposes.

Virtual Currency

Net Five² contains a virtual currency system. Depending on the selected language, this virtual currency may be displayed under different names.

Virtual currency balances are linked exclusively to the anonymous player identifier generated by the game. If the application is deleted, application data is cleared, the anonymous identifier is lost or the game is reinstalled, virtual currency balances may become permanently unavailable and may not be recoverable.

Future Purchases & Payments

Future versions of Net Five² may offer optional in-app purchases. These purchases may include virtual currency, cosmetic content, premium features or other optional digital products.

Any purchases will be processed exclusively through the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or Huawei AppGallery. The developer does not receive or store payment card information, banking information or other payment credentials. Payment processing is handled entirely by the respective platform provider.

Data Storage & Security

Supabase

Game-related information is stored using Supabase infrastructure. At the time this policy was written, the primary database region is located within the European Union, specifically Ireland.

Legal Basis: The storage of gameplay-related information in the database is necessary for the provision of the game service and is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

The developer uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide gameplay services, rankings, progression systems and legal compliance obligations. Inactive player records and associated technical identifier profiles may be automatically deleted or anonymized after a prolonged period of inactivity, typically within 24 months.

Your Rights & Partner Policies

Your Rights (Global Privacy Framework)

Depending on your location and applicable law, including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), users have specific rights regarding their information. These rights include:

  • Access to stored technical information and portability
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion of information where technically possible
  • Restriction or objection to certain processing activities
  • Withdrawal of consent at any time without affecting prior lawfulness
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority

US / California Privacy Notice: The developer does not sell your personal information. To the extent that the use of third-party advertising cookies or identifiers could be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under California law, you can manage and restrict this data sharing via the integrated privacy consent settings (UMP) at any time.

Automated Decisions: We do not use automated decision-making or profiling systems that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. Automated mechanics (such as algorithmic matchmaking) are used purely for competitive game balance.

Verification and Identity Notice: Because the game does not use registration data (such as emails or passwords), privacy requests (including deletion or access) may require you to provide sufficient information to verify and identify the corresponding anonymous player profile.

Third-Party Privacy Policies & International Transfers

For more information on how our core partners process data, please review their respective policies:

Some service providers may transfer and process data in countries outside your country of residence (including the United States and the European Economic Area). Where required by law, appropriate frameworks, standard contractual clauses, or platform mechanisms are used to protect personal data during international transfers.
